June, 2010 – Episcopal Social Services of New York recently launched a Young Professionals Committee with a kick-off reception at Choice Kitchen and Cocktails. The event was attended by close to 40 young professionals interested in networking, volunteering and learning more about the ESS group has to offer.
According to ESS Board Member and ESS YPC Launch Committee Co-Chair, Deborah Snyder, “The purpose of the group is to provide young professionals with an opportunity to engage in service to children and families in need in New York City, to provide them with an opportunity to network with like-minded professionals and to help them further develop their leadership skills.”
“The group’s focus will be on service, not fundraising, ESS Board Member and fellow ESS YPC Launch Committee Co-Chair Julia Kahr added. “We will be looking for some of those that attended this event to take the group to the next level; to decide on what the committee’s mission will be and what types of service they would like to undertake.”
Anyone interested in learning more about the group should contact Mary G. Connolly, ESS’ Director of Development and Communications at 212-886-5604 or connollym@e-s-s.org.
