Young Professionals got together to learn more about the work of Episcopal Social Services and how they can volunteer, network and further develop leadership skills by helping some of New York’s neediest children through the new ESS YPC.
During National Volunteer Recognition Week, Episcopal Social Services (ESS) held a reception to honor volunteers whose participation in programs greatly expands and enhances the services provided to clients. Close to 40 people attended the event and had an opportunity to enjoy refreshments, network with each other, and mingle with ESS staff.
ESS is received special recognition from the NYC City Council, in the form of Proclamation, on Wednesday, March 3rd. The Proclamation was issued for Professional Social Work Month and recognized the work ESS has been doing in social services for nearly two centuries. City Council Speaker Christine Quinn and Council Member Annabel Palma spoke at the ceremony; the proclamation is signed by Speaker Quinn and the entire Bronx delegation.
