In addition to financial support (which is always needed!) ESS programs are also often in need of material support as well – books, clothing, toys, diapers, and other gifts-in-kind not only directly help the children and families we serve, but the money saved on purchasing these items is then available to help keep our programs up and running.
Remember, too, that the food stamps most of our families rely on cannot be used to purchase certain non-food items that are nonetheless essential, such as diapers, soaps, paper products, laundry products, grooming items, and cosmetics. Donations of these items can help low-income families stretch their household budgets a little farther.
The list below indicates some of our current urgent material needs; if you want to help our clients by providing some of these necessities, please call Sara Greenhouse at 212-886-5692 or email at greenhouses@e-s-s.org. Remember, our needs often change over time, so please check back here frequently!
Thank you for your support!
